宜蘭縣竹林國小棒球隊，日前參加2013全國學生棒球聯賽，打進國小軟式全國16強。

成隊47年的羅東竹林國小棒球隊，是宜蘭縣歷史最悠久的國小少棒隊，日前參加2013全國學生棒球聯賽，雖在全國前16強止步，但小選手的拚勁，仍獲師長讚賞。

2013全國學生棒球聯賽共有232隊參賽，50支隊晉級全國聯賽，竹林國小接連擊敗屏東富田、基隆隆聖、彰化育民等強隊，卻在第4戰以6:9輸給台中豐田，止於全國16強。

校長林善敦表示，竹林少棒隊好幾次差點因找不到教練而解散，幸好家長會大力支持，才得以延續至今，這是第3次打進全國16強。
